Good News: Tennessee coach Josh Heupel commits to Future with contact extension for next season
KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – The Tennessee men’s team has signed Ian Cruz, who will play for the Vols in 2024–25, head coach Chris Woodruff said on Tuesday.

Cruz, who spent three seasons at Belmont, where he recorded a 64-23 singles record and a 34-19 doubles mark, is the third transfer to sign with UT for the next season. At No. 2 singles in 2024, the junior recorded a 16-3 dual match record, which included a perfect 17-0 conference record. Cruz and Alfred Wallin played doubles, going undefeated (8-0) at the No. 2 and 3 positions.

James McKie, the associate head coach of Tennessee, described Ian as “an extremely competitive individual.” He will be adored by our devoted supporters for his tenacity and fight on the court. He comes to us from a very good Belmont program, and we are excited to support him in his final year of collegiate tennis as he pursues his ambitions.” Cruz, a Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native, has a 12.64 UTR.
