Eugene, Oregon The 18th-ranked Tennessee women’s track and field team advanced to the national finals in three track events as they kicked off the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships. At the outdoor national tournament, Brianna White and Dennisha Page made their debuts and advanced to the 400- and 200-meter dash finals, respectively. The Lady Vol 4×400-meter relay team, ranked second, easily advanced to the final, capping the action on Thursday from historic Hayward Field.
White qualified for the third and final qualifying slot on time by starting in Lane 5 of the third and final heat of the NCAA 400-meter semifinals. She finished the fast race in 51.40 seconds, placing fifth in her heat and ninth overall. The Brooklyn, New York, senior will compete in the quarterfinals.
Page entered the women’s 200-meter race as her second individual event of the evening, extending her collegiate career by one race with an automatic qualifying time of 22.44 seconds. Her time came in second in the heat and sixth overall, earning her a spot in the 7:07 p.m. ET final on Saturday.
The women’s 4×400-meter relay team’s second-place finish in the first heat guaranteed them a spot in the Saturday final. With a total time of 3:27.65, Javonya Valcourt, Kyla Robinson-Hubbard, DaJour Miles, and White placed fourth overall. They will compete on Saturday night at 7:51 p.m. ET for the national crown.
