Donny Marshall recite history and revealed that, UConn is more dominant than the Celtics…

CROMWELL – Following his round in the Travelers Championship Celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday afternoon, Donny Marshall was beaming. In the best ball format, his group—which featured professionals Adam Scott and Michael Thorbjornsen—finished in the middle of the pack at 7-under 63.
The Courant was told by Marshall, “This was wonderful.” “It was enjoyable for me because I used to play here a lot; I haven’t done so in probably 15 years, and I miss it.”
A day before the course hosts the PGA Tour Signature Event, Marshall played 18 holes in the 90-degree heat at Cromwell’s TPC River Highlands. He was able to watch the pros, like Scott, up close and became fascinated by the differences in golf swings since his last pro-am round. While they were playing the front nine, the 43-year-old Australian, who has 14 wins on the PGA Tour, reached into Marshall’s bag to examine his clubs.
“The putter we use is the same,” Marshall stated. “He was testing it out when he took one of my irons and gave it to his representative.
“And Michael Thorbjornsen, witnessing this 22-year-old Bostonian boy from Wellesley and his impressive athleticism and ball-hitting technique,
Following his graduation from Stanford University, Thorbjornsen secured his PGA Tour card in May with an outstanding amateur result of fourth in the 2022 Travelers.
After playing under Jim Calhoun for four years (1991–1995) at UConn, Marshall has worked as a broadcaster for the past 19 years, calling numerous UConn basketball games on Fox Sports networks during that period. In the past, he covered nearly 600 NBA games for Comcast Sportsnet in New England, including the 2008 championship season of the Boston Celtics.
It was a moment to be grateful for, seeing them win it all again this week, defeating the Dallas Mavericks in five games and raising the Larry O’Brien trophy on Monday for the first time since that run.
