WOWT, Omaha, Nebraska – This year at the College World Series finals, history will be made, whether it’s No. 3 Texas A&M or top-ranked Tennessee raising a trophy above their heads this weekend. Although it will be the Aggies’ eighth and the Vols’ seventh trip to Omaha in 2024, neither team has ever won a championship. Over the next three days, both programs want to snap the title drought.

Pitcher Kirby Connell, a graduate of Tennessee, said, “We’ve talked about trying to win a national championship for the past five years.” This weekend, there will be a three-round fight. and aim to win two games faster than any other squad.

“It really is a blessing and an honor,” Bargo remarked. “I mean, winning a national championship is the exact reason I came to Tennessee—to do it in front of my friends and family in Omaha and my hometown.”

The only other occasion Tennessee has advanced to the CWS Finals was in 1951.

Texas A&M will play in its first-ever CWS Finals on Saturday.

Aggies outfielder Hayden Schott stated, “To do it for this university, with what I’ve been able to experience this year, would be life-changing.” The mere thought of that brings tears to my eyes.
