Tennessee led 6-1 entering the eighth inning before giving up four runs combined in the final two frames, including two in the ninth, the last of which was scored off of a wild pitch. However, he struck out the very next batter to close the game. Tennessee struck first quickly. Vols slugger Christian Moore stepped on the mound in the bottom of the fourth inning. Wallace had deep ties to the program because his mother, Desiree, ran track for the Tennessee program and grew up in Knoxville.
facing Texas A&M ace Justin Lamkin, stepped up to the plate and sent a mammoth solo home run over the fence and into the left field bleachers.
In the third, Texas A&M retaliated with a tie run. Travis Chestnut, who is in center field, was scored by Graham Grahovac, who drove in a run off of a base hit to left field.
But Tennessee did not hang onto the tie for very long. In the bottom of the third, Dylan Dreiling scored teammate Blake Burke on a sac fly, and Dean Curley’s single added another run to make the score 3-1.
