The Nigerian Football Federation announced on Wednesday that Michelle Alozie, a former player for Tennessee Soccer, has been selected for the 2024 Olympics in Paris on the Nigerian Women’s National Team roster.

Alozie will compete in her first Olympics, but she has experience with the Nigerian women’s national team, having played in three different friendlies from 2021 to 2023, as well as the 2023 World Cup and 2022 Cup of Nations.

Currently, the La Jolla, California native is a player with the Houston Dash. Alozie has played in the great majority of the team’s NWSL matches in the 2024 campaign, totaling 14 appearances and 735 minutes. In eight of her outings, she has started, and in six more, she has substituted in.

Alozie transferred from to play at Tennessee for the 2019 campaign.

Yale. In her lone season on Rocky Top, she scored three goals in 17 appearances.

Nigeria, who will be playing in Group C, is set to begin its 2024 Olympic run against Brazil on July 25 and will then go on to face off with Spain (July 28) and Japan (July 31) to round out group play.
