In my preview of the Grizzlies against. Jazz in SLC, I said that Walker Kessler and Keyonte George wouldn’t get a lot of action. I was mistaken. They showed that they were the greatest players on the floor in Salt Lake by playing a ton of minutes, and they are currently recuperating for the Vegas Summer League. This translates to extra playing time for the inexperienced rookies and sophomores—the purpose of Summer League. The game’s standout player, Cody Williams, scored 21 points on 9–15 shooting, including 3–6 from beyond the arc.

First Quarter
The starting lineup for the Jazz included Taylor Hendricks, Isaiah Collier, Brice Sensabaugh, Cody Williams, and Kyle Filipowski.

Kenny Lofton made his presence known, grabbing boards and disrupting passing lanes. Isaiah Collier and Cody Williams both contributed to the first quarter scoring, and both showed that they have a solid feel from the game. They were clearly among the best on the floor, which is exactly what the Jazz want out of their first-round picks. The Mavericks young guns played well too, though. It was the Brandon Williams and Melvin Ajinca Show for much of the quarter.
