With so many high-impact transfers coming in early this summer from the portal, this staff has a lot of promise for Terry and the Longhorns in 2024–2025. Former Indiana State graduates Jayson Kent and Julian Larry are two of the instant impact transfers Terry and Co. pulled in this summer via the portal.
The more experienced of those two Indiana State transfers is anticipated to be a key member of Texas’ frontcourt in the 2024–2025 campaign. Over the past several weeks of the summer, we’ve heard that Kent has really impressed us with his two-way game and his leadership and mentoring skills with the younger players in this rotation.
With his two-way skills and off-ball acumen on the court, Kent has already made an impression on summer S&C coaches, according to a report published earlier this week by OTF’s Gerry Hamilton (premium content). Terry has expressed great admiration for Kent’s versatility in the frontcourt and his ability to perform well both on and off the ball.
