Rams News: Following the Super Bowl loss, Aaron Donald Shared His Actual Thoughts About Tom Brady…
This offseason, Los Angeles Rams standout Aaron Donald announced his retirement, creating a huge void in the heart of the defense. Despite being the squad’s leader and inspiration for many years, Donald made the decision to part ways with the team this offseason.
Donald made an appearance on the Pivot Podcast, where he covered a wide range of topics. He discussed the Rams’ Super Bowl defeat to the New England Patriots in there.
“I won’t lie, that broke my heart,” declared Donald. “I’m not going to lie, we lost that Super Bowl. I spent almost two months in bed. For about three years, I detested Tom Brady… I was furious!”
Los Angeles did make it back to the Super Bowl, albeit it took Donald a few years to come to terms with the game’s loss. They overcame the Cincinnati Bengals this time, and Donald took home his first-ever championship.
Ironically, the Rams took down Brady on the way to winning the title, defeating him and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round of the playoffs on the road.
It was a strong redemption for the star defender, especially considering he helped seal the victory in the late stages of the game. Losing is never easy for anyone but it made Donald and the entire Rams organization hungrier for more.
This helped fuel them to trade for Matthew Stafford, eventually leading to the Super Bowl victory. Now, the current version of the Rams will be looking to do more of the same and get themselves back to the biggest stage that the NFL has to offer.
