On Wednesday, Nick Saban gave his explanation for not selecting Alabama to win the SEC.
When Saban announced that Georgia would play Texas in the SEC Championship Game, he received some unfavorable press.
One of the former players of the Crimson Tide took offense at the previous head coach. This prompted Saban to defend himself on Wednesday on ESPN’s “College Football Live.”
Saban stated that it’s okay that he didn’t select his previous squad.
As a coach, I never wanted to be picked to win the SEC, but I chose Texas and Georgia. The players that are upset with me for not selecting Alabama are upset because I never choose Alabama, according to Saban.
ESPN media personality and former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy made a joke.
that “inverted rat poison” was being used by Saban.
When describing remarks made by the media that can negatively impact his show, Saban would invariably refer to them as “rat poison.” He claimed that Alabama might kill a team like poison if it were to consume too much media attention and detested it when the squad received excessive acclaim or hoopla.
