Following recent storms and flash flooding, a section of the bridge in Zhashui County, Shangluo, fell on Friday night, according to authorities. At least 25 vehicles were reported to have fallen off the bridge by CCTV.
The broadcaster said on Sunday that 1630 persons, 205 cars, and 63 boats were sent out by China’s national fire and rescue administration to execute the rescue.

It was unclear how many people remained missing or had been rescued as of Monday morning.
Chinese state media earlier reported that one person was rescued.
Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Saturday called for “all-out rescue efforts” and for authorities to stay alert to ongoing hazards.
