Men's basketball puts six on NABC Honors Court, earns Team Academic  Excellence Award - St. Olaf College Athletics

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – The University of Tennessee men’s basketball program won awards in both the team and individual categories when the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) revealed its team and individual academic honors for the 2023–24 academic year.

UT was one of only three SEC programs—Auburn and Vanderbilt were the other two—to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award in each of the previous three years.

Men’s basketball teams that finished the 2023–24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or above are honored on this list.

Tennessee’s 3.32 team GPA helped them win the prize.

Six Vols also made the NABC Honors Court, which honors men’s basketball players who are junior, senior, or graduate students and who concluded the 2023–24 season with a cumulative GPA of 3.2.

Returning students Jahmai Mashack (Psychology) and Grant Hurst (Recreation and Sport Management) each received praise from the NABC Honors Court for their scholastic excellence.

In their final year of college eligibility, departing seniors Colin Coyne (business administration), Dalton Knecht (agriculture leadership, education, and communications), and Josiah-Jordan James (agriculture leadership, education, and communications) were all recognized.
