Assistant Rod Clark of Tennessee discusses the buzz surrounding Cameron Carr’s NBA Draft.

Vols freshman Cameron Carr 'hasn't flinched' despite late arrival

Tennessee guard Cam Carr has been the subject of some NBA Draft rumors even though he didn’t get much playing time as a true freshman last season. Carr is slated to go No. 7 and No. 8 overall in two different mock drafts that NBADraft.net has released, which is a really surprising prediction.

Still, there could be merit to all that fanfare. See what expert Aran Smith had to say about Carr in his most recent forecast.

You won’t see Carr’s name discussed in many first round mock drafts after a freshman season in which he averaged fewer than two points, played few minutes in only 14 games, and did little. But once the season starts, don’t anticipate that to remain the same.

Both Carr and the Tennessee staff have heard the noise. Rod Clark, the assistant coach for the Vols, responded to the media discussion on Tuesday.

Clark remarked, “I don’t think Cam necessarily just locks in on the whole lottery pick thing.” “I find it amusing that despite not having seen him, many are claiming he’s a jackpot choice. However, I believe that influences his physical attributes.

“I believe he was visibly present at Pro Day the previous year.” Cam puts a lot of effort into improving his game and has the potential to play at a higher level. He had a pretty decent day. And I believe that he is attempting to carve out a role for himself.
