Joe Milton, Hendon Hooker, and Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava taught him leadership.

Tennessee’s quarterback Nico Iamaleava is currently in charge, and the Volunteers are thrilled about the redshirt freshman for a number of reasons.
The Vols believe they have a true leader in their midst, in addition to his amazing dual-threat ability and potential as one of the finest athletes in the country overall.
Head coach Josh Heupel had said of his rookie quarterback earlier this month, “The thing that I loved about Nico is when he came into the building, he wanted to earn the respect of his teammates and you do that through your actions, not your words.”
Iamaleava recently disclosed that he picked up a lot of knowledge from the quarterbacks who came before him, which is unusual for a young player to assume a leadership role at such an early stage in their college football careers. He redshirted behind Joe Milton the previous season and had the opportunity to study from Hendon Hooker during bowl preparation for the Orange Bowl in 2022. Now, both play in the NFL.
I had fun picking up leadership skills from Joe and the entire group. I found it beneficial to view. I think it’s a terrific thing to have a guy like Joe in front of you to learn from. You know, take in as much of it as you can. I believe I did.
