Concert Honoring Robbie Robertson to Include Performances by Ryan Bingham, Lucinda Williams, Jamey Johnson, and Others

A roster of elite musicians from many genres will come together later this year at Los Angeles, California’s Kia Forum to pay tribute to a musical pioneer. The late songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Robbie Robertson’s legacy will be honored with Life Is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson.
Robertson made a lasting impression on the music industry. Early in his career, he played lead guitar for Bob Dylan in a number of bands. But when he, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel, and Levon Helm founded The Band in 1967, some of his most significant work emerged from that time on. Some of the Band’s most well-known songs were written by Robertson, who also played a key role in the development of the Americana genre. He wrote, among other things, “The Weight,” “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” and “Up on Cripple Creek.”

Following The Band’s dissolution, Roberts launched a prosperous solo career. He also collaborated with directors to write music for movies such as Casino, Gangs of New York, Raging Bull, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, Killers of the Flower Moon, and many more.
