Report from the Dolphins training camp: Who shined, who didn’t, and who is absent
After Wednesday’s Dolphins training camp, the following observations and notes are made: ▪ Does Skylar Thompson really have a shot to unseat Mike White as the team’s number-two quarterback? Although the quarterbacks’ order isn’t allowed to be disclosed during practice, it’s important to note that
Thompson has been working hard this week after starting the game on Friday. In contrast to White, Thompson has been teamed with several noteworthy players. (Once more, team rules forbid going into detail on that.) White did not receive any snaps that Monday, but Thompson did. It will be interesting to watch this. On this week’s depth chart, Thompson was still ranked third and White in second place.
Isaiah Johnson, Emmanuel Ogbah, Marcus Maye, and rookie running back Jaylen Wright were among the players that stood out on Wednesday. Many players were still out of the Dolphins lineup. In order to give them a day off before their combined practice with Washington on Thursday, several people seemed to be sitting out. Salvon Ahmed and Jeff Wilson Jr. (nose) were not playing at running back. With his
problematic foot, Ahmed may be practicing for a day and then taking a day off out of caution. Raheem Mostert may have taken a day off because he wasn’t seen either. Although Jaylen Waddle was observed at receiver, it didn’t seem like he was practicing; Mike McDaniel stated that he had a minor injury. Anthony Schwartz and Odell Beckham Jr. (PUP) are still sidelined. Tyreek Hill showed up
