Following the passage of strong thunderstorms, there was flooding, power outages in Toronto and Mississauga, and a tornado close to Kitchener.

The King’s Plate at Woodbine Racetrack in Etobicoke was forced to cancel races on Saturday due to heavy rain, and Environment Canada verified that a tornado had made landfall approximately 30 south of Kitchener, near Ayr, Ontario.
Following strong thunderstorms that swept across southwestern Ontario on Saturday, widespread flooding and power outages struck Toronto’s west end and Mississauga, while a tornado made landfall south of Kitchener.
The storms produced a tornado at approximately 11 a.m. close to Ayr, Ontario, which is roughly 30 kilometers south of Kitchener, and rained so much rain that races at the King’s Plate at Woodbine Racetrack in Etobicoke had to be canceled.
