Titans head coach Brian Callahan is upbeat with the progress quarterback Will Levis has made.

Tennessee’s NASHVILLE (AP) – Brian Callahan, the coach of Tennessee, is eager to see how much Titans quarterback Will Levis has progressed once the regular season begins.
The promising aspects don’t lie in the way Kentucky’s 33rd overall choice in 2023 throws the ball. He’s already demonstrated his powerful arm, which enables him to throw widely and deep. Levis’s footwork, timing, and accuracy are consistent, as seen throughout practice.
Although he may not appear as exciting to the outside world during practice, Callahan said on Wednesday, “that really presents a smart quarterback that’s playing efficient, which is a huge part of where we were trying to make improvement.”
This offseason, the Titans went all in, surrounding Levis with as much talent as they could. They signed center Lloyd Cushenberry III and wide outs Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd. To better guard Levis, general manager Ran Carthon selected Alabama left tackle JC Latham in the first round of the draft.
In addition, Callahan hired his father Bill to oversee the offensive line coaching after Tennessee allowed 64 sacks the previous year. In nine starts, Levis took 28 of those, finishing 3-6. Being aware of Callahan’s abilities with any quarterback is why Boyd decided to sign with Tennessee, joining a receiving group headed up by DeAndre Hopkins. Boyd saw what Callahan did with Jake Browning in Cincinnati last season after Joe Burrow’s season-ending injury.
Now, with Levis and his powerful arm, it’s all about perfecting timing for a quarterback-friendly offense. Boyd anticipates Levis’s success.
“Once you get the timing down pat, knowing the coverage and knowing where to go specifically when we call the plays, I mean, I think he going to be among the top 10 (quarterbacks).” Boyd stated.
After Ryan Tannehill was benched, Levis took over as Tennessee’s starting quarterback on October 29 and went 3-6. He completed 32 throws of at least 20 yards or longer from that moment until the end of the season. That placed him second only to fellow rookie C.J. Stroud of Houston, who had 41 such throws, among all quarterbacks in the NFL during that time.
