Sad News: A prominent player for the Kansas City Chiefs passed away in the hospital following a sugar-coated injury

As reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL.com, the Kansas City Chiefs have cut backup quarterback Ian Book after signing former New England Patriots receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. The previous star quarterback for Notre Dame was Chris Oladokun, Carson Wentz, and Patrick Mahomes’ backup.

Book was released despite having two touchdowns in the Chicago Bears’ preseason game on Thursday, when he completed six of his nine throws for 71 yards.

AUG 26 JUJU JuJu Smith-Schuster, a former Pro Bowl wide receiver, is returning to the Kansas City Chiefs. On Monday, the team announced that he would re-sign as a free agent. Smith-Schuster was a member of the Chiefs in 2022 when he made seven catches for 53 yards during the team’s victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57.

Prior to the 2023 season, Smith-Schuster left the Steelers and signed with the New England Patriots; however, on August 9, he was released by the latter team.
