Update on Serious Injuries from Kalen DeBoer
Alabama defeated Western Kentucky 63-0 to start the season on a high note, despite being missing standout left tackle Kadyn Proctor. Due to a shoulder injury sustained during pre-game warm-ups, Proctor was declared inactive before to the game and had his left arm in a sling on the sidelines. At the platform on Monday morning, head coach Kalen DeBoer gave some encouraging news, stating that Proctor is in a “shoulder situation”. We will be able to handle that. We’ll keep assessing it during the course of the week.” Elijah Pritchett, a redshirt sophomore, made his career debut at left tackle for the Crimson Tide. Despite giving up three pressures and ending the game with a PFF score of 48.6, he had a difficult time playing.
This week, against South Florida, the Crimson Tide are heavy favorites at home, so they probably won’t need to rush Proctor back. But when they go to play Wisconsin the following week, it would be good to have him back on the field.
