The Alabama football team defeated Western Kentucky 63-0 at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday to kick off the Kalen DeBoer era with a bang. The Crimson Tide was rewarded on Tuesday for their hard work.

In the USA Today coaches top 25 poll, UA rose to No. 4 after moving up a spot. Oregon fell from fourth to sixth place after facing a formidable FCS Idaho team.

The Crimson Tide made the same move in the most recent Associated Press media top 25 poll later on Tuesday. In that poll, Oregon fell to seventh place, while voters ranked Noter Dame sixth and the Ducks seventh.
The rankings did not change, with Georgia at the top. In keeping with tradition, the coaches and media polls were updated on Tuesday rather than Sunday, in time for Monday night’s Florida State vs. Boston College game.

The Seminoles saw a sharp decline in their position in both polls, going from 10th to outside the top 25. In the AP poll, they did not even receive a vote. Georgia Tech and Boston College are the two teams that FSU has fallen to since the preseason rankings were released in August.

The only other team sitting above the Crimson Tide in third place is Texas, followed by Ohio State in second place. After defeating Furman, Ole Miss climbed to fifth place, one spot above the Ducks in the coaches poll and two in the AP’s.

Seventh-ranked Notre Dame was followed by Penn State, Michigan, and Missouri in the top ten. Following their Saturday home loss to Notre Dame, Florida State and Texas A&M both slipped out of the top 25. In their place, Louisville and Washington moved up to the top 25.

In other SEC news, LSU suffered a severe setback with their Las Vegas loss to Southern Cal. In the media poll, the Trojans moved up nine spots to No. 14 and then to No. 13; Brian Kelly’s Tigers, who had started the season ranked No. 12th, dropped to No. 19 (coaches) and No. 18 (AP).
