Alabama displays a banner for Saban Field outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium
The University of Alabama declared it would rename the field inside Bryant-Denny Stadium “Saban Field” a few weeks after Nick Saban announced his retirement. With six national titles and nine SEC titles under his belt, Saban was sure to earn a fantastic accolade from the university to go with his monument outside the stadium. The University unveiled the emblems that are used inside and outside the stadium to refer to it as “Saban Field” on Saturday afternoon.
In his 17 years in Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban amassed a 201-29 record and cemented the University of Alabama’s status as the nation’s best college football program.
In order to further solidify the great coach’s place in Alabama Crimson Tide history, Saban will be honored on the field during halftime of Alabama’s game versus South Florida tonight.
