What Nick Saban and Miss Terry stated at the dedication of Saban Field prior to Alabama football’s game against USF

Every player who plays football in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, starting on Saturday, will do so on Saban Field.

The afternoon before the Alabama game against South Florida, the Crimson Tide honored Terry and Nick Saban with a ceremony. The “Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium” signage was erected at the beginning of the Walk of Champions, to the cheers of thousands of spectators and the attendance of numerous UA officials.

Speech by Nick Saban during the ceremony at Saban Field: “This (referring to the thousands of supporters applauding) is no surprise to me or to us because your support has always been the best in the nation in terms of how you support Alabama athletics, the football program, and us. I truly appreciate it. You don’t realize how much we value you.

However, having the field dedicated in recognition of the legacy we’ve been able to leave here is truly an honor. This legacy should stand for all the players who put forth a lot of effort on the field. All the coaches that assisted the guys in growing. The administration that gave us all the resources we needed to establish a foundation for success required to be the nation’s greatest program. And to all of you fans who have consistently shown support for our players, our program, and everything we do. I’ve received more from you than from us. We are grateful that you brought us into this community eighteen years ago. We now call it home.

We now have the chance to serve as coaches at one of the top universities in the nation because to you. And the fact that Dr. Witt and Mal Moore offered us the chance to come here and attempt to make Alabama football one of the most prestigious programs in the nation eighteen years ago meant more to me than words can express. And what a fantastic team they were. Not me. My folks gave up a lot for me. Thanks to your support, Bryant-Denny Stadium now boasts one of the best playing environments. When we first arrived, this community welcomed us.

gamers have greater life success. We could produce better individuals. I’m proud that after just 17 years, we have 668 degrees. which will contribute to those guys living better lives. And the team’s performance is reflected in the quantity of victories and titles won. which includes our administration, the coaches, the players, you fans, and everyone else who represents the program.

I sincerely appreciate your presence today. However, I cannot express how much I appreciate your cooperation in making our program a success, both in good and bad times. Our goal is to keep Alabama’s football program among the best in the nation. However, it’s also home to one of the best sports programs in the nation. As I believe it to be the window through which the public views our outstanding university. Our university has improved as a result of the influence that our successful program allowed us to have. The fact that we were able to help with it in so many different ways makes me proud. Thus, many thanks, and Roll Tide.
