What the coaches of Alabama said about playing at Camp Randall Stadium and Wisconsin

Everything Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said about Wisconsin Badgers

On Saturday, Alabama football will visit Madison, Wisconsin for the first time since 1928.

The Badgers defeated the Crimson Tide 15-0 on November 3, 1928.

Almost a century later, Kalen DeBoer and team will try to make it Alabama’s all-time record against Wisconsin to 1-1 in Madison. At Camp Randall Stadium, No. 4 Alabama (2-0) takes on the Badgers (2-0) at 11 a.m. CT.

Although the Crimson Tide hasn’t played in Madison since a long time ago, offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan has more recent experience with the university and Camp Randall in particular. When he was on Indiana’s staff, he was their coach. When he was a quarterback at Michigan, he also made a few trips to Madison.

Sheridan remarked, “I just think it’s a program that loves football.” “Fans have a strong sense of passion. It’s a fantastic setting for competition and play. That speaks highly of their fan base and their sense of pride in the program and the state. Without a doubt, it will be difficult, but we’re looking forward to it.

Kane Wommack, the defensive coordinator, likewise sees a “tremendous environment.” He complimented Wisconsin’s customs, such playing “Jump Around,” as well as the campus and universities.

Wommack stated, “I think our guys have to lean into those things.” “I believe that in order for them to play college football at a very high level, they must first enjoy, appreciate, and acknowledge some of the sport’s greatest qualities.”

Sheridan and Wommack both gave Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell high marks. According to Wommack, Fickell paid a visit to Ole Miss during the time when his father, Dave Wommack, was the defensive coordinator in Oxford. Fickell was at Ohio State at the time and was interested in what the Rebels, led by the elder Wommack, were up to.
