Why Alabama football should be able to handle Wisconsin with ease

USF v Alabama

Every season, Alabama’s first road trip is always intriguing to watch, if only to observe how the squad performs away from home. There are a lot of younger players participating on Saturday, so it’s always a worry about how they’ll do in a challenging setting. Although there has always been a boisterous vibe at Camp Randall, this is nothing new for Alabama. The senior players are accustomed to traveling, having played for LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and of course Auburn; therefore, nothing about the stadium’s atmosphere on Saturday should surprise them.

Looking back at the Tide’s recent road defeats, you can see that they faced players like the mobile Jayden Daniels and Hendon Hooker. Tyler Van Dyke is a long way from being Daniels or Hooker, even though he showed tremendous promise two years ago while playing at Miami. He lacks the offensive line that both of those teams possessed, and he is not at all mobile. Quinn Ewers had a once-in-a-lifetime performance in last year’s defeat to Texas, and Van Dyke doesn’t seem to have the guys with the talent to pull off the significant home game upset.

Having said that, forcing the audience to leave the game early is the simplest method for Alabama to ensure victory. Home underdogs who have a history of large wins are able to hold the game tight in the end, which boosts team morale and keeps fans engaged. The Tide’s ability to get off to a fast start will be crucial in thwarting aspirations of an early upset for the home stadiums. In my opinion, Alabama will not only cover the spread but also ensure that there isn’t any late drama like we seen last week. A few quick scores and getting off the field on defense on third down will be crucial early in the game.
