Ryan Williams, a rookie receiver for Alabama, is often brought up in terms of the numbers.

Three touchdowns on half of his six catches have come in his first two outings. In terms of receiving yards (207), yards per reception (34.50), and yards per game (103.5), he leads the Crimson Tide. And then there’s that other number: He is only seventeen years old.

Jalen Milroe clarified, “He’s the truth,” during an interview on “The Pivot.”

The Alabama quarterback identified several characteristics that set him apart from the SEC freshman of the week performer in Week 1: his development, tenacity, and attention to detail.

“You not just going to be able to blow by people,” Milroe said of receivers. “You have to have cover recognition. You have to know who you are blocking, the run scheme.

“I liked when he went into the training room and asked our head trainer, Jeff Allen, ‘Can you put me on the plan that (former Alabama receiver and current NFL star) DeVonta Smith was on?’ I haven’t told him this, but he will know now. I realized that he was serious. He is quite serious. I never considered that when I was seventeen. It reveals his frame of mind.
