WISEMAN, WI (AP) – Alabama is getting ready to make a rare trip north and thinks it has learnt from a surprisingly close call.

The fourth-ranked Crimson Tide will play their first genuine road game against a school north of the Mason-Dixon Line on Saturday when they travel to Wisconsin. Their last road game against a school north of the line was a 27-11 victory at Penn State in 2011. The one time Alabama had visited Camp Randall Stadium, they had lost 15-0 to Wisconsin in 1928.

Alabama (2-0) recently defeated South Florida 42–16, a result that was considerably closer than the score suggested. Before scoring three touchdowns in the final six minutes, the Tide had a 21-16 lead, had 13 penalties, and a negative 3-to-1 turnover differential.
However, it’s a lesson worth taking away,” Malachi Moore, a safety for Alabama, stated. We become slightly more focused on the intricacies and realize that having a “A” on our chest is insufficient. We need to go forward and perform at the top of our game. We have to prepare like way every week since we are everyone’s Super Bowl, as we all know.”

The meeting on Saturday gives both sides a chance to assess their level of development prior to beginning their conference schedules with tough games. On September 28, Alabama’s Southeastern Conference schedule begins with a visit to No. 1 Georgia. On the same day, Wisconsin (2-0) begins Big Ten play with a trip to No. 11 Southern California.

Wisconsin, which has finished 7-6 in each of the previous two seasons, will also have an opportunity to demonstrate that it has reestablished itself as a program. The Badgers are a 16½-point underdog at BetMGM Sportsbook, their biggest home underdog since at least 2005, the furthest back as their data extends.
