After serving as Indiana’s offensive coordinator for the 2019 season, Coach DeBoer is well-known in the Big Ten.

The starting quarterback for the Badgers, Tyler Van Dyke, makes an appearance for the Tide. Van Dyke played for the Miami Hurricanes in 2021 and attempted one pass against Alabama. He has 406 passing yards and a touchdown through two games for Wisconsin. “He’s got experience,” DeBoer said of Van Dyke. “That is the biggest thing. There is not gonna be a situation where he is overwhelmed by the environment.” Experience is important to Van Dyke, but the Badgers want to run the football. If the Tide takes away the run game, Van Dyke will have to beat them in the passing game. He has a talented arm, but his accuracy is inconsistent, so Alabama must constantly affect him with pressure.
