Alabama injury Update: Tua Tagovailoa, a former quarterback for Alabama, sustains a head injury during Thursday Night Football.
Tua Tagovailoa, the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins and former Alabama player, departed his Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills due to a head injury he sustained during a third-quarter fourth-down scramble. He was ruled out right away due to what appeared to be a concussion.
Due to his history of head problems, Tagovailoa was sidelined for at least two games in 2022. He focused on being more astute about his influence in 2023, starting all 17 of Miami’s games and guiding the club to the postseason. Regretfully, Tagovailoa’s injury happened in the midst of a blowout loss to a division foe in the Dolphins’ opening game of the season.
He finishes the night with a 17/25 throwing average for 145 yards, three interceptions, and one score, dropping the Dolphins to a late 31-10 deficit.
Concussions typically take seven to eleven days to heal, but following the most recent injury, concerns about Tagovailoa’s long-term health will surface even before a full diagnosis is made. In order to get the last few reps of the game, the Dolphins looked to Skylar Thompson, but if Tagovailoa is out for a lengthy amount of time, they might seek elsewhere.
