A vital Tennessee athlete tragically passed away in a hospital following a brain injury.
Tennessee baseball’s league schedule for the 2025 season was revealed by the SEC on Thursday afternoon. UT’s first three home SEC series are against teams that will compete in the 2024 College World Series: Florida, Texas A&M, and Kentucky.
The weekend of March 14–16, Tennessee will host its bitter rival Florida at Lindsey Nelson Stadium to kick off SEC play. The Volunteers’ regular season will come to a finish on May 15–17 when they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, Tony Vitello’s former home. Conference play will continue throughout that time.
Before traveling to Hoover, Alabama, on May 20–25 to compete in the SEC Tournament, each SEC school plays ten SEC series. Interestingly, Texas and Oklahoma are the newest members of the SEC, and Tennessee will not be facing them in their league debut.
Tennessee will play five conference series away from home and five at home. Florida, Texas A&M (April 4-6), Kentucky (April 18–20), Auburn (May 2-4), and Vanderbilt (May 9–11) are UT’s five home opponents.
After playing its five conference series away from Lindsey Nelson, Tennessee will travel to play its remaining four games against Alabama (March 21–23), South Carolina (March 28–30), Ole Miss (April 11–13), LSU (April 25–27), and Arkansas. TV designations and game times will be revealed later.
Last season, eight of the ten SEC opponents of the Vols participated in an NCAA regional. Out of those teams, three made it to the NCAA Super Regionals. The game between Tennessee and Texas A&M on April 4-6 will be a replay of the CWS Final from the previous season.
