Alabama set to welcome rest of 2024 recruiting class to campus

Alabama’s new offensive line coach Doug Marrone is attempting to make a splash on the recruiting trail. Marrone extended an offer to five-star defensive back, Keon Sabb Sunday.

In Williamstown, New Jersey, Sabb is a student at Williamstown High School right now. He had been in contact with the Tide before to their offer. He had the chance to see their facilities last week when they gave him a virtual tour.
The native of New Jersey expressed his gratitude for the offer he received from Alabama.

“I’m thrilled and grateful,” Sabb said to Touchdown Alabama.

Marrone is expected to be a key player in the Crimson Tide’s pursuit of Sabb.

In an interview, Sabb expressed his excitement about getting to know one of Alabama’s newest coaching hires.

“It’s a really nice guy,” Sabb remarked. “Our conversation was excellent, and I am eager to get to know him better.”

Coaches at Alabama informed Sabb that they were impressed by his stature, athleticism, and ball abilities. He is currently 6-foot-3 and weighs 195 pounds, which is a tremendous frame. For Williamstown, he also plays on both sides of the ball.

Under Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide have added a couple of defensive backs from New Jersey. Anthony Averett and Minkah Fitzpatrick, two former defensive backs for Alabama, are both from New Jersey. The level of Saban’s involvement with the Tide’s defensive backs impressed Sabb, he said.

“He’s a fantastic coach and a legend,” Sabb remarked. “I appreciate his active involvement with their defensive backs.”

There’s no denying that Sabb has a top 15 ranking right now and is one of the most sought-after players in the 2022 recruiting class. To place themselves in a strong position to hire him in the future, Alabama will want to establish a rapport with him.
