In his new position as an analyst for ESPN, Nick Saban had no issue sharing the viewpoint of a successful contemporary college football coach.

When discussing the possibilities of the Ohio State team this year, Nick Saban made a remark that caused Pat McAfee, one of the panelists on “College GameDay,” to lean back in his chair and snicker.

The Buckeyes are considered as potential national champions and have assembled a stellar team in part thanks to NIL, which lets players get paid while playing for the NCAA.

According to numerous estimates, Ohio State football has one of the highest NIL budgets of any university team across all sports, at almost $20 million a year.

That’s life, darling! McAfee answered.

Saban is one of the few people who understands how to handle a roster in the NIL era.

Under Nick Saban’s direction, Alabama did not win a national championship in the three seasons that NIL legalized for college football; however, he did lead the Crimson Tide to a New Year’s Six bowl game each year.

This entails one appearance in the national championship game and two trips to the College Football Playoffs.

After leading Alabama to six national titles, Saban announced his resignation in January, and former Washington coach Kalen DeBoer took over as head coach.
