Nick Saban reveals one SEC location where playing was never difficult.

For a long while, Nick Saban led the SEC as head coach. He played for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2007 to 23 and the LSU Tigers from 2000 to 2004. With LSU in 2003, Saban won a national championship; with Alabama, he won six.
Saban has been a crew member on College GameDay since he retired from coaching. Additionally, he is a regular guest on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
In a recent episode, Saban spoke about SEC football. He listed one SEC location where he had never had any trouble playing. According to Saban, it was not difficult to play at the Vanderbilt Commodores stadium.
“The only place you’re going to play in the SEC that’s not hard to play, Vanderbilt,” Saban stated. It’s no slight to them; when you play at Vanderbilt, you have a larger fan base than they do. It is verifiable.”
Historically, Vanderbilt’s collegiate football program has not been very successful. The program’s final trip to the bowl occurred in 2018. Under former head coach James Franklin, the Commodores last experienced a winning campaign in 2013. Franklin is the Penn State Nittany Lions’ current coach.
Clark Lea, the current head coach, is still waiting for his first successful season in Nashville. Despite having a 2-10 record the previous season, the club is improving in 2024. Entering Week 4, Vanderbilt is 2-1.
On September 21, Vanderbilt takes on the No. 7 Missouri Tigers. Kickoff airs on SEC Network at 4:15 p.m. ET.
