Former Alabama Key players respond Negatively following the Crimson Tide’s decisive victory over LSU to maintain their place in the CFP race

Alabama football defeated LSU 42–13 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge on Saturday, making a statement in the College Football Playoffs. It was rewarded for its efforts on Sunday, rising in the Associated Press media standings later in the day and in the coaches’ top 25 poll when it was updated.

Despite losing to the Rebels on Saturday in Oxford, Alabama was rated one spot higher than Georgia, which was ranked above No. 11 Ole Miss in the coaches poll. However, their rankings were reversed in the AP top 25. In the coaches, BYU took the position right in front of UA.

In both polls, Oregon was still at the top. Georgia’s defeat propelled Ohio State up one spot to No. 2. With Penn State and Indiana at No. 4 and No. 5 in the AP, respectively, Texas, Tennessee, and Penn State completed the top five in the coaches poll.

Indiana is one spot ahead of Notre Dame at No. 6 in the coaches’ rankings.

Following the defeat, the Tigers fell precipitously in the media rankings, falling nine spots to No. 22 and seven spaces to No. 21. Miami’s loss to Georgia Tech also caused them to drop to No. 12 in both polls.

South Carolina at No. 25, Missouri at No. 21, and Texas A&M at No. 15 were among the other SEC schools in the coaches’ top 25.

Before ending the season with a trip to Oklahoma and a home game against Auburn, Alabama will return to action on Saturday when they play Mercer in Tuscaloosa. ESPN will update the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night.
