ESPN Provides ‘College GameDay’ Update After Week 12 of Tennessee vs. Georgia
This season, college football has been a roller coaster for many teams nationwide, but one thing has stayed the same: ESPN’s “College GameDay” pregame show, which offers one of the greatest pregame experiences before a packed schedule of games every Saturday.
When the No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers and the No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs faced off in a crucial SEC game in Week 12, the “GameDay” crew was in Athens, Georgia, on the campus of the University of Georgia.
While the energy is typically great when the crew is in front of a crowd full of Bulldogs fans, this season has seemed different. Much of that is due to the huge additions to the show, including Pat McAfee joining last season and famed head coach Nick Saban being added this year.
The show has generated remarkable numbers, indicating that the improvements have paid off. ESPN published data on Monday that demonstrated the show’s success thus far this season.
The University of Georgia’s broadcast for week 12 averaged 2.0 million people, with an even higher audience of 2.6 million during the last hour. 2.9 million people watched the performance at its peak during the broadcast. At an average of 2.1 million viewers thus far, “College GameDay” is poised to record its highest season ever with two weeks left in the regular season.
