Following a decisive victory over No. 7 Tennessee on Saturday night, Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs are well positioned to qualify for the College Football Playoffs. Smart also sent a strong message regarding UGA’s difficult schedule after facing their third top-10 team this season. After starting the season out of conference against No. 20 Clemson, Georgia traveled to No. 10 Alabama, No. 3 Texas, and No. 11 Ole Miss before hosting the Volunteers in Week 12 in Athens. Smart has made an attempt to remind fans, pundits, and the playoff committee of the fact that no team has played a more difficult schedule than the Dawgs. It seemed that Smart kept pointing fingers at people who haven’t given the Bulldogs enough credit for the kind of schedule they’ve had to contend with this season. “I’ll let y’all judge,” Smart stated at his press conference following the game. “I mean, everyone believes that we ought to win every match. Our crew has my utmost admiration. I would probably answer that I don’t doubt it if you told me that this bunch would be as resilient since they are wonderful kids. We still have two games against tough clubs left, and they played the hardest schedule in our league.” Unless they receive some assistance in the SEC championship race, the Bulldogs may not be able to make an automatic bid to the playoffs.
