**Pittsburgh Steelers Named a Potential Target — QB Arch Manning “Not Thinking About 2026 NFL Draft Just Yet”**
As NFL scouts begin projecting future quarterback prospects, one name continues to generate buzz: Arch Manning. Despite only entering his second season of college football, the Pittsburgh Steelers have already been named by multiple analysts as a potential landing spot for the young quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, Manning himself is staying grounded — and says the NFL is far from his current focus.
“I’m not thinking about the 2026 Draft just yet,” Manning said during a recent media session. “Right now, I’m focused on getting better every day, helping my team win, and doing whatever I can to grow as a player and leader.”
Manning, currently competing for the starting quarterback job at Texas after transferring from Alabama in the offseason, is widely regarded as one of the most talented college quarterbacks of his generation. The nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning and the grandson of Archie Manning, Arch has been in the national spotlight since high school. But despite the pressure, he continues to take a measured, mature approach to his football career.
Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh, questions at the quarterback position continue to swirl. Though the Steelers currently have former first-round pick Kenny Pickett and veteran backup options, many analysts believe the team could be searching for a franchise quarterback in the next few years — especially if their offense fails to make significant progress.
NFL Draft expert Daniel Jeremiah recently named the Steelers as a potential destination for Manning, should he declare in 2026. “If Arch continues developing the way many expect him to, he could absolutely be in play for a team like Pittsburgh,” Jeremiah said. “They’ll need a long-term solution at quarterback, and Manning has the pedigree, skillset, and leadership traits that teams covet.”
But for now, Manning is intent on tuning out the noise. His focus remains on the upcoming college football season and proving himself on the field. After limited playing time last year, he’s determined to earn his spot and show why he was once the No. 1 high school recruit in the nation.
“I still have a lot to prove,” Manning said. “Nothing’s been given to me. I want to earn everything, and that starts with working hard every day at Texas.”
Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian praised Manning for his focus and humility. “Arch isn’t distracted by the outside talk,” Sarkisian said. “He’s focused on what matters — being a great teammate, improving every rep, and learning the system. That’s what makes him special.”
As the 2024 college football season approaches, all eyes will be on Manning to see how he handles increased responsibility — and possibly, the starting role. While NFL teams like the Steelers may already be dreaming of drafting him, Arch is content to take things one step at a time.
“I’m in no rush,” he said with a smile. “The future will take care of itself.”
