It is feasible to defeat Tennessee in its own barn. Even though the Vols are ranked sixth and their arena can hold almost 22,000 people, some of the teams who visit Knoxville this season have enough ability to have a chance.
On paper, Alabama was one of those squads.
However, even highly skilled teams have a set of unavoidable tasks they need to complete in order to leave Food City Center with anything other than a crushing defeat.
Something that is simple to write but far more challenging to accomplish is at the top of that list, written in the biggest font imaginable. The Vols, led by Reverend Rick Barnes, will go all Old Testament on you if you don’t play as hard on both ends of the floor as Tennessee does almost every possession.
