Raiders Top star player withdraw from 2024 training camp…see more
As the Raiders approach the end of training camp, it’s been a fun trip with a few grueling days.
Wednesday was the end of the Silver and Black’s final practice before their preseason matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. More significantly, the game will provide a few young players one last opportunity to secure a spot for the upcoming season. This Friday’s game marks the team’s final home game at Allegiant Stadium until Week 3 of the regular season.
There was still a sense of urgency on the field even though it was the last session. Here are some salient points from the Raiders practice facility on Wednesday night.
A dime in the end zone from Aidan O’Connell to Zach Gentry was, in my opinion, the play of the day. The 6-foot-8 tight end was able to jump up and get it over two defenders after O’Connell threw him a fade. Gentry reached out and grabbed multiple times.
Jakorian Bennett exhibited his quick reflexes during red zone drills by deflecting a pass brilliantly to energize his defenders. In an effort to unseat Jack Jones as the starting outside cornerback, the second-year cornerback is working hard.
Throughout practice, Amari Gainer played with a lot of enthusiasm, chasing down screens and figuring out how to be in the ideal place. After two strong preseason games, the North Carolina UDFA might see a lot of playing time on Friday night. “Amari performed incredibly well. “He’s a physically strong and attractive linebacker,” Pierce remarked.
