After getting demolished twice by them this season, it’s hard to overlook just how much trouble this UConn squad has caused. What makes it even worse is that they let THREE players beat them. Thatโs rightโAzzi Fudd, Sarah Strong, and Lou Lopez Senechal took over, and South Carolina just couldnโt find an answer. ๐ฎ
Even with Paige Bueckers out, UConn is still a serious problem. Fuddโs been playing out of her mind, and Strongโs emerging as an unstoppable force. Staley and the Gamecocks have a tough road ahead, especially as they lose a few key seniors. The reality is, if they want to keep their dynasty intact, theyโll need to either land a player like Sarah Strong or make a major splash in the transfer portal.
With the current state of the program and UConnโs dominance, the future of South Carolinaโs reign is in serious question. Theyโve been on top of womenโs college basketball for a while, but with the competition looking fiercer than ever, I donโt know if they can hold on for much longer.
