The Romanian, who has played 24 times this season with two goals and an assist, was sent out on loan to the Spanish top flight by Michael Beale last summer after he recovered from a devastating knee injury.
While on international duty with his country, the Romanian had some time to speak with Spanish publication Marca about his future. When asked if he could see himself back at Rangers in a year, he gave a resounding yes.
Yes, that is where I want to be, Hagi replied. I feel that this game has the potential to bring out the best in me, and it is the football in which I wish to develop. After just six to seven months here, I already feel that I’ve improved as a player and that my training and playing have improved daily.
“I think that soon my best traits will be shown, and I will finally be able to show everyone who I am. I see development every day. I adore La Liga’s caliber as well as everything about Spain, including the teams, player-team rivalry, and local pressure.
“I believe this is the league I can excel in and fully express all of my abilities. I have watched this league since I was a young child, and I have always dreamed of being here. I intend to stay here for a very long period now that I’m here.”
