Merryweather has a right shoulder issue, thus the Cubs moved him from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day injured list. Before being on the injured list, he had played in just four games with the Cubs. With a 1.93 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP on the season, he pitched 4.2 innings and gave up four hits, one earned run, one hit batter, two walks, and six strikeouts.
Hayden Wesneski, RHP
Wesneski was recalled by the Cubs from Triple-A Iowa today. He has made three appearances for Iowa this season, starting two of them. He has pitched 10.2 innings this year with one win and zero losses. In nine innings pitched, he has given up three earned runs, two hits, three walks, and ten strikeouts.
Luke Little, or LHP
Luke Little was optioned by the Cubs to the Iowa Cubs today. Little has made seven appearances, starting one of them. 6.2 innings pitched, four hits, 2 earned runs, 1 home run, 5 walks, and 5 strikeouts have been allowed by him. With the Cubs this season, he has a 1.35 WHIP and a 2.70 ERA.
Colten Brewer, RHP
Colten Brewer’s contract was chosen by the Cubs from the Iowa Cubs today. In six games this season, Brewer has suffered just one loss. After 7.2 innings of work, he gave up three hits, one earned run, one home run, two walks, and nine strikeouts while pitching.
