In an attempt to diffuse tensions over Mohamed Salah’s injury, Liverpool has stated that they will spare no effort to get him fully recovered in time for the Africa Cup of Nations final next month.
Speaking ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Fulham on Wednesday night, Pep Lijnders, Jurgen Klopp’s assistant, stated that Salah’s decision to return from Ivory Coast was made in consultation with the Egyptian medical experts in order to facilitate his recuperation from a torn hamstring.
Ahmed Hassan, a great former midfield player for Egypt, argued that the national captain need to stay to back his teammates. Lijnders responded, saying there’s no reason to mistrust Mo Salah’s devotion.
“I know Egypt is inconsolable over his passing.” Hearing that he was hurt grieved us.
“Our team and their medical team decided to send him back only to give him the best chance to be available in the event that Egypt advances to the final (on February 11).”
